Dr. Anne Qian Wang is thrilled to return to New York Youth Symphony Composition Program as Co-Director after two seasons in the role of Assistant Director. Dr. Wang is an Assistant Orchestra Librarian and Pre-College Ear Training faculty at The Juilliard School, where she also completed her D.M.A., M.M., and B.M in composition while studying with Melinda Wagner. Previously, she attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Damien Ricketson. Her works have been performed in both the United States and in Australia, where she is from, in events with Astral Artists, the Sydney International Piano Competition, and in Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Dr. Wang is passionate about music performance librarianship, education, and collaborative and cross-disciplinary arts and media; her doctoral dissertation is titled: “The Illusion of Choice: An Analysis of the Music in Narrative-Driven Video Games of the 2010s.”
