The Durst Début Series artist, 22-year-old pianist Adam Golka is the winner of two of America's most prestigious pianistic awards: the 2008 Gilmore Young Artist Award and most recently the 2009 Max I. Allen Classical Fellowship Award of the American Pianists Association. Adam has appeared as soloist with major orchestras such as the BBC Scottish, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, San Diego, and Grand Rapids symphonies, the Shanghai Philharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia, as well as with the orchestras of the National Arts Centre Ottawa, Grand Teton Music Festival, and Colorado Music Festival. His recent solo recital appearances have included the Gilmore and Newport festivals, the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City, and the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. Adam's mentor and teacher during most of his professional career has been Van Cliburn gold medalist Jose Feghali, and currently Adam is studying with legendary pianist Leon Fleisher at the Peabody Institute.
