The New York Youth Symphony presents Mahler’s 2nd Symphony, “Resurrection” with Sarah Shafer and Jazimina MacNeil

New York, NY - The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) orchestra closes its 53rd season with Mahler’s emotional and dramatic Second Symphony, “Resurrection” on Sunday, May 29, 2016, Carnegie Hall, Stern Auditorium/Perelman stage at 2pm. Music Director Joshua Gersen will conduct this ensemble of 128 student musicians joined by soprano, Sarah Shafer, mezzo-soprano, Jazimina MacNeil, and MasterVoices. The world premiere of Collective composed by Brendan Faegre, winner of the NYYS First Music commission, will complete the program. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students.
