New York Youth Symphony 2016/17 Season Celebrating 35 Years of the Chamber Music Program

New York, NY – The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) willproudly celebrate the 35th anniversary of itsChamber Music Program (CMP) during the 2016-17 season.Over 2,000 students have participated in the CMP since its inception and it has become a 21st century model for youth chamber music programs. The CMP combines high standards, flexibility, immersion in contemporary and core repertoire, and performances throughout the community, with sessions for building an extra-musical toolkit: speaking, networking, Alexander technique, auditioning, advocacy, and event planning. Emphasis is placed on personal development as a both musician and citizen.
