The New York Youth Symphony is an independent, not-for-profit institution dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through the study and performance of music.

To this end, the organization provides a variety of educational and performance programs. Young instrumentalists, soloists, conductors, and composers learn the virtues of personal development, self-discipline, and working with others to experience the joy of making music while at the same time maintaining the highest standards of musical excellence.
